आपने मेरे मांगने पर दिया भी तो यह पुराना कलर काम करते-करते मदन को बहुत जोर से भूख लगी थी वह पास के आम के पेड़ से आम खाने के लिए तोड़ता है मदन को आम का फल खाने में बहुत मीठा लगता है वह कहता है जो ना मैं थोड़े से आम के फल रूपा के लिए भी इस कलश में ले जाऊं यह कलश किसी काम में तो आएगा जैसे ही मदन ने कलश में 2 आम रखें देखते ही देखते पूरा कल आसाम से भर गया मदन को बहुत आश्चर्य हुआ उसने कहा यह कैसे हुआ कोई जादू है क्या मैंने तो यूं ही नाम रखे थे और अब कल शाम से भर गया वह तुरंत उस तलाश को लेकर अपने घर चला गया मदन ने अपनी पत्नी रूपा से कहा देखो रूपा मैं तुम्हारे लिए क्या लाया हूं रूपा बोलती है आम लेकर आए हो और खाने के लिए घर पर कुछ भी नहीं है फिर थोड़ा सा आटा है मदन कहता है चिंता क्यों करती हो भाग्यवती अब हमारी किस्म !

बदलने वाली है अब हमें कभी खाने की कोई दिक्कत नहीं होगी रूपा पूछती है ऐसा क्यों आपको कहीं नौकरी मिल गई है मदन कहता है अरे नहीं रूपा एक बहुत ही अनोखी चीज मिली है जादुई चीज रूपा कहती है जादुई चीज कैसी जादुई चीज मुझे भी दिखाओ मदन कहता है तुम वह थोड़ा सा आटा लेकर आओ मैं बताता हूं मदन उस थोड़े से आटे को कलश में डालता है देखते ही देखते पूरा कलश आटे से भर जाता है रूपा यह सब देखकर बहुत खुश होती है और मदन से कहती है अब हमें कभी किसी चीज की दिक्कत नहीं होगी अगर इसमें खाना ज्यादा हो सकता है तो बाकी की चीजें भी ज्यादा हो जाएंगे तभी मदन कहता है रूपा ज्यादा लालच सही नहीं भगवान ने हमें बहुत अच्छा उपहार दिया है हमें जादुई कलश का सिर्फ खाने की जरूरतों को पूरा करने के लिए उपयोग करना चाहिए रूपा कुछ नहीं कहती पर उसे मदन की बात सही नहीं लगती !

अगली सुबह रूपा को अपनी दोस्त की शादी में जाना था वह मदन से कहती है पास के गांव में मेरी सहेली पुष्पा की शादी है हमें आज वहां जाना है मदन कहता है अच्छा फिर तो हमें उसके लिए कोई तोहफा भी ले जाना चाहिए मैं बाजार से उसके लिए एक साड़ी ले आता हूं रूपा कहती है ठीक है आप बाजार जाओ मैं तब तक सामान बांध लेती हूं रूपा देखती है उसके पास पहनने के लिए बहुत थोड़े जेवर हैं और एक-दो ही अच्छी साड़ियां हैं वह कहती है शादी में सब नए नए जेवर और कपड़े पहनेंगे तो मैं भी जादुई कलश का उपयोग करके अपने लिए कुछ साड़ियां और जेवर जादू से मंगा लो लालच के कारण रूपा अपनी साड़ी कलश के अंदर डालती है और देखती है जादू से बहुत सी साड़ियां आ गई फिर वह अपने थोड़े से जेवर भी उस जादुई कलश के अंदर डालती है देखते ही देखते पूरा कलर्स सोने के जेवर से भर जाता है रूपा सारे जेवर निकालने लगती !

कुछ जेवर निकालने के बाद उसे ऐसा लगता है कि कलश में और भी जेवर हैं वह कलर्स के अंदर झांकी देखने लगती है जैसे ही रूपा कलेक्ट के अंदर जाती है देखते ही देखते जादू की वजह से बहुत सारे रूपा कलर्स के बाहर आ जाती है असली रूपा को कुछ समझ में नहीं आ रहा था क्या हुआ वह बहुत परेशान हो जाती है तभी मदन बाजार से उपहार लेकर घर आता है इतनी सारी रूपा को देख कर समझ जाता है कि लालच की वजह से जरूर उठाने जादुई कलश का गलत उपयोग किया होगा उसे कुछ समझ नहीं आ रहा था कि असली रूपा कौन है मदन पूछता है तुम लोगों में असली रूपा कौन है सभी कहते हैं मैं हूं असली रूपा मैं हूं असली रूपा मैं हूं असली रूपा मैं हूं असली रूपा मैडम समझ जाता है कि यह कोई छोटी मुसीबत नहीं है और सब कुछ ठीक करने के लिए अब बस एक ही उपाय है मदन उस जादुई कलश को जामिन !

पर पटक कर तोड़ देता है जादुई कलश की टूटी ही उसके जादू का असर खत्म हो जाता है और असली रूपा को छोड़कर सब गायब हो जाती हैं रूपा मदन से कहती है मेरी लालच और नादानी की वजह से आज मुझसे बहुत बड़ी गलती हो गई मुझे माफ कर दीजिए मदन कहता है कोई बात नहीं हमारी जीवन में कुछ ही दिनों का सुख था अब हम वापस से मेहनत करके ही जिंदगी जिएंगे दोस्तों हमें इस कहानी से यह सीख मिलती है कि ज्यादा लालच में किया गया काम का परिणाम बहुत बुरा होता है और मेहनत करके किए गए काम का फल हमेशा ही अच्छा होता है धन्यवाद !
